Questions that should be awnsered

1. Can County Mayor use an executive order to change laws, as he has already done, or should changes be voted on by the County Commission?
2. Legally ? Can the Building Commissioners office be told not to issue any permits without the approval of the County Planner?
3 .Has the County asked for an Attorney Generals opinion regarding the building of homes in the flood plain and flood ways?
4. Does the County Mayor have the proper background in Planning and Zoning to enable him to give advice to Planning Commission members or does he tell them only what he THINKS would be best for Cheatham County.
5. Is it the intent of the County Mayor to stop all building in Cheatham County?
6. Does adding 60 day waiting periods to the Subdivision Regulations hurt the potential developer or individual homebuilder, if so why would the County cause this hardship?
A. Conceptual Plan-- Requires 60 day waiting peroid.
B. Development Plan -- Requires 60 day waiting peroid.
C. Final Submission Plans-- Requires 60 day waiting plan.
D. Sellers of property will not allow land to be tied up in contract for this amount of time, causing developers or individual homebuilders a hardship and potential loss of purchase.
E. People who plan on selling their property to fund their retirement will be unable to sell due to regulations that cause builders to leave Cheatham County.
7. Will meetings on site when zone changes are requested, with adjoining property owners, put the County at risk from disputes that get out of hand ?
8. Do developers need the added cost of Landscape Engineers, as required by the county in the new Subdivision Regs, or is this another way of imposing hardships to slow or stop development ?
9. Will the loss of Builders and Developers have a major impact on the economy of Cheatham County?
10. Will county residents suffer from additional tax rate increases to cover loss of Development,Impact, and Building permit fees? Yes as County Mayor Bill Orange has already stated in the paper?
11. Who are the BAD DEVELOPERS that Mayor Orange keeps refering to?
12. Will the Subdivision Regulations that are proposed cause the lot cost to develop in Cheatham County to increase to the 50.000.00 range thus eliminating affordable housing in the county?
13. Do we only want 300.000.00 homes to be built from this point forward in our count?.
14. Can our children or grandchildren afford to live in Cheatham County once these Subdivision Regs are passed?
15. Will future industries or comercial businesses that we desperately need come to our county. or will they look to other areas that have affordable housing markets available?
16. Will the countys regulations not FEMA'S stop residents from improving their property?
A. Can i tear down my home and build a new one in it's place thus increasing revenue in property tax?
B. If my home burns can i build back?
17. Will owners of all tracts of land over 5 acres be required to spend an additional 4 to 5 thousand dollars and then be turned down because they created a subdivision?
18. Does the Tennessee State law plainly state: FIVE ACRES OR MORE DO NOT REQUIRE PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVAL ?
19. If the new Sub Regs pass will the County reimberse the people whose property values crash?
20. Do the new Sub Regs affect landowners thruout all of Cheatham County, and should ALL CITIZENS be concerned?
